Maria Bernarda

Maria Bernarda is a devoted Christian woman in El Salvador. 

Despite battling health issues, her spirit remains unshaken. But her home? It's slowly crumbling around her.

Maria's son, her only support, works tirelessly in the fields. 

The average income of someone who works in agriculture is about $5-7. 

Not an hour.

$5-7. A. DAY.

This barely covers the essentials like food, medicines or clothes.

So repairing their deteriorating home feels like an impossible dream.

Now, pause for a moment.

$5-7 a day. 

That's what many of us spend on a morning coffee without a second thought. 

Yet for Maria and her son, it's all they have to stretch across their daily needs.
